Chipewyan Prairie First Nation (CPFN) is a Denesuline (Chipewyan) Treaty 8 First Nation located in northeastern Alberta, with reserve lands near Janvier and administrative ties to the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. The Nation’s membership includes residents living on-reserve and across the surrounding region, and governance is led by an elected Chief and Council focused on community well-being, protection of Treaty rights, and stewardship of traditional lands within the Athabasca oil sands region. Economically, Chipewyan Prairie First Nation has built a strong presence in industrial services and resource-adjacent sectors, leveraging its geographic proximity to major energy projects.
